Getting started
Any legitimate business or sole trader operating in the UK or Ireland that complies with local licensing, insurance and tax obligations. Typical categories include trades (plumbing, electrical, building), cleaning, childcare, pet care, accountancy, IT support, gardening, removals and more.
Go to Add Your Business, complete your details, and choose a catchment radius by postcode. You’ll then see relevant local jobs within your chosen area. You can adjust your radius anytime in your settings to scale up or focus locally.
You must hold any licences and insurance required for your trade and location. Customers often ask for proof before hiring. Keeping your documents up-to-date helps you win more jobs and build reviews.
Bidding & tokens
Customers post a job once and local Providers submit their best quote as a bid. Customers compare price, reviews and availability, then select a winning bidder. Our competitive workflow is patent pending and protected — see Terms.
Tokens allow you to submit a bid on a job. You only spend tokens when you decide a job is worth pursuing. Token pricing is displayed before purchase; tokens are non-cash credits (non-transferable unless stated) and have no monetary value outside the platform.
Many categories allow a free re-bid if your original bid is declined or becomes uncompetitive. Re-bid visibility and constraints (e.g., timing, caps) may vary by category and demand and are shown in-product.
Payments, fees & refunds
Payments are processed by secure third-party providers that support UK/EU SCA (Strong Customer Authentication). We do not store full card details. Receipts appear in your billing section and are emailed to you.
Tokens are typically non-refundable once used. If there’s a clear platform error preventing a bid from being submitted, contact support with details; we’ll review on a case-by-case basis.
Jobs & customers
Customers review bids and may message you for clarification. If you’re selected as the winning bidder, you’ll receive the customer’s contact details and agreed scope; confirm the final details in writing before starting work.
Agree changes and new pricing in writing with the customer. If a job is cancelled before start due to customer reasons, you may leave a factual note on the job. Good communication and written confirmation protect both parties.
Reviews & reputation
After work completes, customers can rate and review. Keep communication clear, agree scope and price, and ask for a review politely when finished. Consistent 5★ service drives visibility and win rate.
Yes. Provide evidence (messages, photos, invoices). We may remove reviews that breach guidelines (abuse, hate speech, irrelevance) or are demonstrably false. Legitimate negative feedback is usually retained to protect buyers.
Account & settings
Use your profile settings to adjust your radius, categories, and preferred times to receive alerts. You can pause notifications temporarily when you’re busy, then resume when ready.
Yes. Add additional users with roles/permissions, and configure additional service areas if you operate in multiple locations. Where available, you can assign jobs to branches.
Compliance & legal
Providers must comply with applicable consumer law, advertising standards and data protection (UK GDPR or ROI GDPR). Keep records of quotes, agreed scope, invoices and customer communications.
Yes — the Bids For Business bidding workflow is patent pending and protected. Copying, simulating or enabling substantially similar workflows is prohibited. See our Terms.
Technical help
Check notification settings, your email spam folder, and your radius/categories. Some categories have fluctuating demand; broaden coverage if needed. Ensure your browser/app notifications are enabled.
Yes — contact support with the job link, timestamp and any error messages. If a platform error prevented submission, we’ll review and make it right where appropriate.
Other questions
Our core model is pay-when-you-bid. We may pilot optional bundles or credits from time to time — if available, they’ll be shown in your billing area.
