Terms of Use & Disclaimer

1. Our Role (Marketplace)

B4B operates a digital marketplace where customers post jobs and independent businesses (“Providers”) submit quotes/bids. B4B is not a party to any contract for services between a customer and a Provider, does not employ, manage or supervise Providers, and does not guarantee the quality, timing, pricing or outcomes of any work. Contracts are formed directly between customers and Providers.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

• You must be 18+ and capable of entering a binding contract.
• Provide accurate, current information and keep it updated.
• You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and all activity under your account.
• We may suspend or close accounts for breach, fraud, security risk, or unlawful conduct.

3. Job Posts, Bids & Fair Competition

• Customers post jobs with accurate scopes. Providers independently decide whether to bid and at what price.
• Competitive Bidding: Providers are encouraged to submit their best offer up front. Customers compare price, reviews and availability and choose a winning bidder.
• Where caps apply (e.g., a limited number of active bids per job), or where re-bid rules are available, these are shown in-product and may vary by category, location and demand.
• We may introduce or amend anti-spam, throttling, visibility, re-bid or tie-break rules to keep competition fair and transparent.
• All quotes are set by Providers; B4B does not set or control pricing.

4. Tokens, Fees & Payments

• Some actions (e.g., submitting a bid) may require tokens or a fee. The price is displayed before purchase.
• Tokens are a right to use features; they are not legal tender, have no cash value, and are non-transferable unless we say otherwise in writing.
• Payments are handled by third-party processors; their terms and any applicable SCA/PSD2/PCI requirements apply.
• Taxes are your responsibility. Providers must comply with all applicable tax, invoicing and record-keeping laws.

5. Provider Responsibilities

• Hold and maintain any licences, insurance, certifications and right-to-work/operate required by law.
• Provide accurate quotes, timeframes and descriptions; honour agreed scope and pricing where feasible.
• Comply with consumer law, health & safety, advertising standards, and data protection law (UK GDPR/ROI GDPR).
• Deliver work with reasonable skill and care, and handle complaints in good faith.

6. Customer Responsibilities

• Describe job requirements accurately and select a Provider using your own judgment.
• Verify identity, references, insurance and qualifications appropriate to the work.
• Agree scope, price and timetable in writing with the Provider before work starts.
• Retain copies of communications, estimates, invoices and photos for your records.

7. Acceptable Use

• No illegal, abusive, defamatory, deceptive or discriminatory conduct.
• No scraping, reverse engineering, interfering with security, or bypassing fees.
• No posting of others’ personal data without lawful basis; comply with data protection law.
• No false reviews, bid manipulation, collusion, or attempts to game ranking or visibility.

8. Content, Reviews & Moderation

You are responsible for content you submit (texts, images, reviews, profiles). By submitting content, you grant B4B a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, store, display and use it to operate and promote the Platform. We may remove or moderate content that breaches these Terms or the law. We do not undertake to verify or pre-approve content.

9. Intellectual Property & Patent-Pending Notice

The Platform, brand, software, databases, user interfaces, workflows, and original content are owned by B4B or its licensors and are protected by copyright, database rights, trade mark laws, and other applicable intellectual property laws. Except as expressly permitted by law, you must not copy, modify, distribute, mirror, frame, extract, or create derivative works from the Platform or its content.

10. Privacy & Cookies

Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. We use essential cookies to run the site, and optional cookies with your consent. You can manage preferences via our cookie banner or cookie policy page.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. While we aim to provide accurate, useful information, we do not warrant the identity, licensing, insurance, pricing, suitability, availability or quality of any Provider or their work. You should carry out your own checks before hiring.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, B4B and its affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or loss of profits or revenue, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform or services delivered by Providers. Nothing excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

13. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate access where you breach these Terms, compromise safety or security, or otherwise pose risk to users or B4B. You may close your account at any time. Some information may be retained to meet legal or audit requirements.

14. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be signposted on the Platform. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

If you are resident in the UK, these Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are resident in Ireland, these Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland and the Irish courts have exclusive jurisdiction. Mandatory consumer law rights in your place of residence continue to apply.
